Practitioner note

Meeting audio is transcribed in Sydney and isn't stored once transcription finishes. To generate your documents, the transcript text is sent, encrypted, to a US-based AI provider that doesn't use it to train AI models.

Collection limited to purpose

Pleadwell only collects what's needed to generate your documents and run your account. No behavioural tracking, no ad identifiers.

No use for marketing

Matter content, transcripts and generated documents are never used to market to you or anyone else, and never sold.

Cross-border disclosure, disclosed

Every place content leaves your device or leaves Australia, meeting audio to a speech service in Sydney and transcript text to our AI provider, is named on this page, not left to the fine print.

Data sovereignty

Matter records are hosted in Australia, Sydney region, and encrypted in your browser before they get there, so only you can read them. Not even Pleadwell can.

Access and deletion

Delete your account from Settings at any time. Deletion purges your matter data from Pleadwell's records.

Frequently asked, about privacy specifically.

Is Pleadwell compliant with the Australian Privacy Principles?+

Pleadwell is designed in line with the APPs: data is collected for a stated purpose, matter records are hosted in Australia, and the one cross-border disclosure (transcript text to a US-based AI provider) is named plainly rather than buried. Pleadwell hasn't undergone a formal third-party privacy audit yet. If that matters for your practice, ask, and we'll tell you exactly where things stand.

Will my client's information ever be used for marketing?+

No. Matter content, transcripts, and generated documents are used only to run the product for you. They're never used for marketing, profiling, or training, and never sold or shared with third parties beyond what's needed to generate your documents.

Does your AI provider keep or train on my client's transcript?+

It doesn't train on it. Under the provider's commercial terms, content sent through its API isn't used to train AI models. The transcript is sent solely to generate your file note, email, action items and billing entry for that session, over an encrypted connection from our servers in Sydney. The provider keeps it only for a limited period for safety monitoring, then deletes it. Your drafts are stored in Sydney, not with the provider.

Am I still responsible for getting my client's consent to record?+

Yes. Pleadwell discloses where your meeting audio and transcript text go, but recording consent and your professional conduct obligations are yours to manage, the same as if you'd taken the notes yourself.

What happens to my data if I cancel or delete my account?+

Deleting your account from Settings purges your matter data, file notes, emails, action items and billing entries from Pleadwell's records. Cancelling a subscription alone doesn't delete anything; your data stays until you actively delete it.
